HAC Distributes Fresh Produce & PPEs in Little Haiti Business District
For thousands of households across this city, three meals a day is not guaranteed. Families rely on local pantries to close the widening gap and put food on their table.
As interfaith communities celebrate Holy Week, we partnered with St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church Community Outreach Committee and M & M Angels to distribute fresh produce; community credits; toys; COVID-19 resources such as home testing kits, face masks, and hand sanitizers.
HAC Joins PATH Foward Initiative to Tackle Bias & Discrimination in the Black Community
As an immigrant and sanctuary city, we proudly celebrate the diverse cultures that have enriched who we are as New Yorkers. Our language, religious beliefs, and customs may differ but we are all connected as part of a human tapestry. By building community through conversations, we can stand in solidarity against hate, bias, and discrimination. We were honored to host Partners Against the Hate and introduce high school youth across neighborhoods and boroughs to Little Haiti in Brooklyn. Our city’s future lies in the hands of today’s youth who will become tomorrow’s leaders. This summit was an incredible opportunity to promote cultural competency and inspire our youth to discover the world that exists in their own backyard through history, food, and the arts. We want to thank our partners who supported us in joining this initiative to end the violence

HAC Earth Day of Service with Prospect Park Alliance
Caring for our community means protecting the people and the environment in which we live. HAC volunteers rolled up their sleeves, in celebration of Earth Day, to support our urban ecosystem. After a quick tutorial by the Prospect Park Alliance team, we pulled weeds, aerated the soil, and added mulch to a dozen trees along the Ocean Avenue corridor of Prospect Park. Let's all do our part to keep our neighborhoods green and healthy.
HAC Joins Black Health and Wellness Panel in the Bronx
We are thankful for the NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs and Commissioner Manuel Castro, Dina Simon, and Miosotis Muñoz, MBA for giving HAC the opportunity to partner on an amazing Black History Month celebration at NYC Health + Hospitals (Lincoln Hospital) in the Bronx. As one of the leading Haitian American community development organizations, we are proud to bring a voice to immigrant communities and looks forward to partnering with government to do more for our members.
Our Impact on the Ground in Haiti
While assessing the effects of the August 14th earthquake, it was evident that there was a need for economic development and stability in the Southern Region. The Haitian American Caucus plans to take on this issue in hopes to continue equipping adults with the tools to succeed and strengthening local communities.
